Mobile Commerce Convenience in Japan

Interesting article over at cnet on the rise of mobile commerce in Japan >> The article states that:

Last year, the number of people using mobiles for internet access exceeded personal computer users in Japan. According to government data, 80 per cent of e-commerce by teenagers aged 15-19 was done on mobiles in 2005.

I don’t think the West are going to be far behind in these figures. As soon as the next generation of mobile devices are released that should be easier to use on the mobile web and sites that are becoming mobile wev ready we will start shopping via mobile phones. I still think areas such as security needs to be looked at as this will be a main concern for consumers.
